Q: Do you paint other teams/sports or only the Vikings?...
A:  Yes!
I will absolutely paint other teams, players, and sports. The Vikings are where I got my start so all of my work at the moment is of Vikings players. But if you happen to like some other team/sport (nobody's perfect) don't worry we can make it happen.
Does this include the Green Bay Packers?...
Unfortunately for me it does. Luckily, I have ultra thick rubber gloves to protect my skin as well as special eye protection to keep my eyes from burning out of my skull during the painting process as well as a clothes pin for my nose. It will be difficult and I will not enjoy the process very much, but I am a professional.
Q: Do you only do "big head" players?...
A: Nope.
I am willing and able to paint players in normal proportions. The "big head" style is something the Vikings team photographers do following a victory. I've just carried that over for their charity auctions. When you place an order for a commissioned piece, just let me know which style you'd prefer.
Q: Do you only paint athletes/sports?...
A: Maybe...
While I am able to paint subject matter outside of sports, I do try to stay inside the sports arena (pun intended). Having said that, if you have an idea for something you'd like to have painted, send me a message and we can talk it over. Hey, it can't hurt to ask!
Q: I've changed my mind. Do you accept returns?...
A: No.
Because these are commissioned unique hand-painted pieces of art I cannot accept any returns, sorry.  Once I have finished the artwork I will send photos to you for final approval.  No art will be shipped out to you without your approval and final payment. So once the artwork is approved, payed for in full and shipped, I cannot accept any returns.
Q: How long will it take to paint and get to me?...
A: It depends...
There are many variables at play when making art. For planning purposes you should expect at minimum an 8-12 week turn around time. However this is an estimate only and NOT guaranteed. Some pieces take less time, some take more.
Unfortunately, I am not a robot... yet.
I can only work on a few pieces at a time while providing the highest level of quality. Artworks are produced in the order in which they come in. Should there be a wait list, you will be notified before the deposit is paid.
I am an artist, and art cannot be rushed!
Having said that, if you need a commission rushed and completed by a certain day I will try my best to work with you. Just be aware that a "rush fee" will be applied if your piece requires any line skipping. The fee will depend on the amount of rushing required to meet the desired deadline. All fees will be discussed in advanced and agreed upon before any artwork begins. I try to be as transparent as I can with the process and will happily answer any questions you might have before we get started.
Q: Did you just say "deposit" in the previous answer?...
A: Yep.
I sure did. Regardless of the size and scope of the commission, a 50% deposit is due upfront to hold your place on the wait list and before any work begins. The final 50% is due once the artwork is completed and approved. Artwork will not be shipped until final payment is received.
This is non-negotiable.
Q: Can you paint on a jersey I already own?...
A: Absolutely!
Some people already have a jersey/helmet/ball/etc... that they want painted. Some of them are already autographed, some are not. I can work with either. If you already have an item you want painted on, send me a message. I'll discuss the shipping process during the consultation.
But what if I don't already have a jersey/helmet/ball/etc...?  No worries. Lucky for us it's the 21st century, we can order it online! Hooray Jeff!
Q: Can I wear and wash the jersey?...
A: That is not recommended.
These are intended to be sports memorabilia art pieces, not fashion. The paint and ink used in their creation is not made for use in a washing machine. The best place for the jerseys are in a frame behind glass, or hanging on a hanger in your fan cave (a.k.a. your living room).
Q: Can you paint it in the style of...?
A: Probably not.
Unless the style you want me to paint it in is "Joemart84 style", then I won't be much help to you. Back to that whole 'not a robot' thing. If you've seen a piece of art you loved that was done by another artist, and want something in that style then you should find that artist, I'm sure they'd love to hear from you! They probably would NOT love someone else knocking off what they've worked hard to achieve, and I would most likely only pale in comparison.
As the great and wise philosopher Popeye once said "I am what I am, and that's all that I am."
Q: Do you paint on sneakers, cleats, or shoes?...
A: I do!
Most of the process I use to paint footballs applies directly to sneakers and cleats. I have some sneakers I am currently working on that I'm very excited to show off. I should have them up on here very soon, so check back in a week or so! (And yes... they are Vikings themed. Sorry, not sorry.)
Actually, I can pretty much paint on anything. So if you have an idea for something "unusual" send me a message and we'll see if/how we can make it work.
Q: How much does it cost to commission a piece?...
A: It's complicated.
Due to the variables involved, the "how much does it cost" response is more complicated than I can answer in a short snarky (some say witty...) sentence.
